The Audi R8, based on the Audi Le Mans Quattro concept car, designed by Frank Lamberty and Julian Hoenig, first appeared at the 2003 International Geneva Motor Show and the 2003 Frankfurt International Motor Show. The R8 road car was officially launched at the Paris Auto Show on 30th September 2006. There was some confusion with the name which the car shares with the 24 Hours of Le Mans winning R8 Le Mans Prototype (LMP). Importantly, six-time 24 Hours of Le Mans winner, Jacky Ickx described the R8 as 'the best handling road car today'. Although it was rumoured by the automotive press since the announcement of the production R8 in 2006, it was only in August 2008 that spy shots of a convertible R8 'Spyder' from filming scenes of the movie Iron Man Two were published online.
This lovely example is presented in silver with a mix of grey leather and alcantara interior. Its mighty V8 is mated to an automatic gearbox. It comes with a service history and current MoT test certificate which expires in June 2025. The present owner has just put new rear tyres on it and it comes with electric and heated seats, sat nav and Bluetooth phone connection, handbook and service book. These are superb sports car to drive and is also ULEZ compliant which is a huge bonus! Consigned by James Good
