Debuted in 2001 as the successor to the long-running Virage, the Aston Martin Vanquish was the famed British marque’s new elite-level V-12 flagship. Three generations of production included the first from 2001-07, the second from 2012-18, and the latest for 2024 onward. Delivering supercar performance, this second-generation Vanquish is based upon Aston Martin’s “VH” vehicle platform, similar to that of the DB9.
Styled by Marek Reichman and built at Aston’s Gaydon, U.K. factory, this captivating 2015 Aston Martin Vanquish Volante (convertible) delivers electrifying performance with power from an upgraded version of Aston Martin’s 5.9L V-12 engine, developing 565 HP at 6,750 RPM and peak torque of 457 lb-ft at 5,500 RPM. Among its credentials, the Vanquish accelerates from zero to 100 KPH (62 MPH) in 4.1 seconds and can reach 183 MPH. Technical items include frontal engine placement with a rear-mounted transmission, helping the car achieve a near-perfect 51/49 front/rear weight distribution.
Starting with the 2015 models, the Vanquish utilized an updated ZF TouchTronic III 8-speed automatic gearbox, and it was the first Aston Martin model to be available with launch control. Available since 2013, the Vanquish Volante features a full carbon fiber body, a triple-layer lightweight fabric top and third-generation Brembo Carbon Ceramic Matrix (CCM) disc brakes with 6-piston front and 4-piston rear calipers. Featuring ultra-seductive body styling, this 2015 Aston Martin Vantage Volante is a rare, limited-production Carbon Edition car, strikingly finished in Stratus White with the Obsidian Black leather interior featuring contrast stitching.
In addition to its fabulous visuals, electrifying performance is delivered by Aston Martin’s renowned 5.9L V-12 engine paired with a TouchTronic III 8-speed automatic transmission, harnessed by the aforementioned 4-wheel carbon ceramic disc brakes plus three-stage adaptive damping. Visual enhancements include the machined carbon fiber sill plaques, Herringbone carbon fiber front and rear facias, carbon fiber lower sills and mirror caps, black anodized center stack controls with carbon fiber surround, and black gearshift paddles with accent-colored leather tips.
Passenger amenities are many, as expected, including automatic climate control, a Bang & Olufsen audio system, three-position heated seats with memory function, and the convenience of front and rear parking sensors.
