In terms of its styling the DBS was clearly a development of the DB9 but with the additions of a carbon-fibre front splitter and carbon-fibre rear diffuser among others. State-of-the-art manufacturing techniques were employed in making the aluminium/composite body. Powering the DBS was a development of the 6.0-litre, 48-valve, V12 engine found in other Aston Martin models, producing 510bhp initially, an output sufficient for a top speed of 190mph (305km/h) in manual transmission form, with 60mph (96km/h) arriving in a neck-snapping 4.3 seconds.
The engine was mounted as far back as possible in the chassis, while the transmission/final drive was combined in a rear transaxle, resulting in a perfect 50/50 front/rear weight distribution, with commensurate benefits to handling, roadholding and controllability. Transmission options were a six-speed manual or six-speed 'Touchtronic 2' paddle-shift semi-automatic, while the striking 20" wheels were considered by some to be the best looking on any Aston Martin. Inside the DBS one finds the typically elegant, luxurious and supremely comfortable hand-crafted interior traditionally associated with Aston Martin.
This manual-transmission example is finished in Almond Green with Sahara tan leather interior and carbon door caps. This particular DBS was delivered new to our vendor on 19th November 2008 via HWM following the completion of the PDI at 25 miles on 23rd October 2008. Further services were stamped in the accompanying service book on 8th February 2010 at 835 miles; 4th February 2011 at 1138 miles; and 2nd February 2012 at 1,447 miles. Beacon Hill Jaguar serviced the DBS on 7th September 2015 at 1,644 miles and it was serviced again by Aston Martin works on 7th October 2016 and 15th June 2018, the latter at 1,885 miles.
Stored carefully since 2018, the car will require recommissioning before further road use. Offered with a 'DBS' car cover. Interested parties should note the car is supplied with one key. The private UK registration is currently being retained by the seller and the car will be offered with a UK age related registration document, which will follow post sale.
