Revealed at the Gardone Riviera in June 1971, the 2000 GT Veloce featured a larger capacity 131 horsepower, 2.0-litre twin-cam four-cylinder engine, which was carburettor fed on European-specification cars—though power was identical to fuel-injected examples. A five-speed manual transmission and four-wheel disc brakes came as standard, and the GTV was incontrovertibly tuned for grand touring—something earlier 105s were less focussed on.
This beautiful 2000 GT Veloce was delivered new to San Marino on 19 July 1971, finished in Biancospino over a black leatherette-trimmed interior. Presented in these colours today, the interior is enhanced by black carpets, contrasting light wood dashboard and centre console trims, and a wood-rimmed three-spoke steering wheel. Additional features include its correct instrument cluster with attractive Jaeger dials, manually operated windows, opening quarter light windows, heating and ventilation controls, optional 14-inch Magnesium Cromodora alloy wheels, and chrome-plated bumpers—which many such cars have since lost.
Noted to have undergone some light restoration work in 2016 and 2017, this example has been with its current owner since February 2015, and is now offered for sale as part of the The Curated Collection. It would make a fine acquisition for any marque afficionado.
Dévoilée en juin 1971 à Gardone Riviera, la 2000 GT Veloce recevait un moteur 4-cylindres 2 litres double arbre développant 131 ch, alimenté par deux carburateurs pour les voitures aux spécifications européennes — mais la puissance était identique aux versions à injection. Elle était équipée en série d'une boîte manuelle à cinq rapports et de quatre freins à disque, et la GTV était indiscutablement tournée vers le grand tourisme —orientation que les précédentes séries 105 n'avaient pas adoptée aussi nettement.
Cette magnifique 2000 GT Veloce a été livrée neuve le 19 juillet 1971 à San Marin, de couleur "Biancospino" avec intérieur en simili noir. Arborant aujourd'hui les mêmes teintes, elle présente un intérieur avec moquettes noires, finition bois pour le tableau de bord et la console centrale, et volant bois à trois branches. Elle est équipée de son réceptacle d'instruments correct avec de beaux compteurs Jaeger, de vitres à manivelle, de déflecteurs ouvrant, de commandes de chauffage et ventilation, de jantes Magnesium Cromodora de 14 pouces en alliage et de pare-chocs chromés — que de nombreux exemplaires n'ont plus.
Ayant fait l'objet de légers travaux de restauration en 2016 et 2017, cet exemplaire appartient à son propriétaire actuel depuis février 2015 et il est aujourd'hui proposé à la vente comme faisant partie de "The Curated Collection". Il représentera une belle acquisition pour tout afficionado de la marque.
