If you want a new McLaren with a twin-turbo V8 and no hybrid assistance, the clock is ticking. Final orders for the McLaren 750S are now open ahead of its planned retirement in 2027, although McLaren has yet to confirm the exact deadline. The appeal is easy to understand. A 4.0-liter V8 sends power exclusively to the rear wheels, delivering 740 hp without an electric motor joining the party. In an era when electrification is becoming increasingly common among supercars, that traditional formula gives the 750S a character of its own. Its roots stretch back to the 720S, launched in 2017. When the 750S arrived six years later, around 30 percent of its components were new or revised. It was a substantial evolution of an established platform, rather than an entirely fresh design — and that platform is now approaching its tenth year. What comes next remains uncertain. Another hybrid McLaren is reportedly in development, but no direct successor to the 750S has been announced. Could the next generation be even faster and more capable? Perhaps.
