This Kenny Brown P2 Panther is equipped with a 4.6L V-8 engine fitted with an Eaton SVT supercharger, an automatic transmission and a dual exhaust system. The odometer reads 15,420 miles, lending to the black Crown Victoria’s impressive appearance inside and out. The chassis employs 4-wheel disc brakes and 17-inch, seven-spoke alloy wheels, and the exterior has received a police-style front nudge bar with supplemental lighting and dual A-pillar-mounted spotlights. The interior features gray cloth upholstery, a split front bench seat with fold-down armrests, the factory AM/FM/cassette stereo system, a certified calibration speedometer and pillar-mounted auxiliary AutoMeter Pro-Comp gauges for boost and fuel pressure. A car phone and Cobra Sound Tracker CB radio have been installed, while power windows, power locks, power mirrors and a power driver’s seat remind that this is indeed a flagship luxury car. The Crown Victoria is accompanied by an extra key, and the tinted glass adds to the relatively intimidating look. When Kenny Brown developed the P2 Panther, it was something entirely unexpected and yet something that made fans of the Ford Panther chassis nod and smile with appreciation. The Panther chassis is a lot of car for the money, and Brown was able to demonstrate what could be had with his modifications. Building on the structural rigidity, the chassis received support braces; improving overall drivability, Brembo brakes replaced the stock units, lightweight Ronal wheels were wrapped with wider Michelin tires, and all P2 Panthers were built upon Crown Victorias with Ford’s touring suspension. The engine received both a supercharger and an intercooler, the duo helping the 281 CI V-8 to deliver 350 HP. The transmission was reprogrammed to deliver a sharper shifting pattern but without the harshness generally associated with modified transmissions. In the end, some called it a Hot Rod while others likened the P2 Crown Victoria to that of a 7-Series BMW or S-Class Mercedes-Benz without all the extra amenities. In the end, the P2 exceptionally improved road holding over stock and could turn in 5-second 0-60 MPH times and finish the quarter-mile in less than 14 seconds, making it a superb performance machine. https://www.mecum.com/lots/1126205/1998-ford-crown-victoria-kenny-brown-p2-panther/
