Chassis No.: 1903203 Engine No.: 1903203 Registration: 880CXX Peugeot is a major French car brand, part of PSA Peugeot Citroën, the second largest car manufacturer in Europe. The family business that precedes the current Peugeot company was founded in 1810 and manufactured coffee mills and bicycles. On 20th November 1858, Emile Peugeot applied for the lion trademark, producing their first automobile in 1891. The company began selling cars in the United States in 1958, and in 1960 introduced additional models, many styled by Pininfarina such as the 504, one of Peugeot's most distinctive models. Like many European manufacturers, collaboration with other car makers increased; Peugeot worked with Renault from 1966 and Volvo from 1972. Several Peugeot models were assembled in Australia, commencing with the 203 in 1953. This particular Peugeot 203 was first registered on 18th January 1962. Having been stored in a barn for the last 30 years, this 203 is in need of restoration although looks to be complete. When imported into the UK, the Police considered using Peugeot 203s’ although this did not come to fruition.
