Stellantis brings extensive truck experience through Ram and Jeep, but its pickups use body-on-frame construction, while the modern Defender relies on a unibody platform. Defender Could Become a Pickup

According to a report from Automotive News, JLR is considering developing the truck with help from Stellantis as part of their new U.S. partnership. The move would give JLR a way to expand its American presence while producing a vehicle specifically tailored to U.S. buyers. JLR currently imports its entire U.S. lineup, making American production increasingly attractive amid import tariffs. The proposed pickup would not replace Defender production in Slovakia.
