Designed primarily for urban driving, the ForTwo gained popularity for its exceptionally small footprint, allowing it to park perpendicularly in parallel spots. The 2006 model maintained its signature two-passenger configuration and rear-engine, rear-wheel-drive layout. Powered by a 0.7-litre three-cylinder turbocharged engine, it produced around 61 to 75 horsepower depending on the variant, paired with a six-speed automated manual transmission. Its lightweight construction and Tridion safety cell, a reinforced steel structure, provided both agility and crash protection. Though minimal in features, the ForTwo emphasized efficiency and manoeuvrability, making it a practical choice for congested city environments.
