Denza Z: 1,582 HP in Just 1.96 Sec
The Denza Z electric four-seat sports car has reached dealerships across China ahead of its planned Q4 2026 launch. BYD’s high-performance model previously opened domestic pre-sales at 680,000 yuan ($101,090), with a staggering 1,180 kW (1,582 hp) on tap. The Z is appearing in both standard coupe and track-focused versions. The coupe features a sleek silver body, black roof and pillars, and semi-hidden door handles. Inside are leather-and-suede seats, a 12.8-inch central display, digital gauges, and a D-shaped steering wheel. The Track Edition turns things up with aggressive bumpers, a huge rear wing, orange paint, carbon-fiber trim, and staggered 275/35 front and 325/30 rear tires. Its top speed reaches 350 km/h. Power comes from three electric motors producing a combined 1,180 kW, fed by a 76-kWh LFP battery with flash charging. The Z can hit 100 km/h in just 1.96 seconds and offers 380–410 km of WLTP range. The Denza Z has also opened pre-sales in the UK, where the entry-level coupe costs £142,900 ($193,540). Could this be one of China’s most serious electric sports cars?
