Renault launched the V6 Sport Clio in 2001, it was broadly based on the Renault Clio Mk II however the V6 variant actually shares very little with its standard counterpart. The 3.0 V6 engine was taken from the Renault Laguna and tuned to 227bhp, which was placed in the middle of the vehicle, it replaced the rear seats turning the car into two-seater "hot hatch'. The V6 Sport Clio was in many ways the spiritual successor to the wild rally based mid-engine Renault Turbo Five of the 1980's.

The Clio Mk II had to be extensively reworked structurally to accommodate the change from being a front-engined, front wheel drive car, to a mid-engined, rear wheel drive machine. This is certainly not a car for the faint hearted, it was built in limited numbers and mainly driven by only the true enthusiasts of the day.

This is an early example of the Renault Clio V6 model that has been kept largely standard other than the addition of a carbon air filter being fitted. Having covered just 57,476 miles the car has recently had an overall refresh, which includes the respray of the front and rear bumpers to repair stone chips on the car and also a refurbishment of the wheels. Internally a new battery has been fitted, along with new breather pipes and all six coil packs being replaced to insure the smooth running of this Clio V6.

Fast becoming a "hot hatch' classic this is great opportunity to buy a highly sort after future classic.
