170 bhp, 1,991 cc SOHC air-cooled horizontally opposed six-cylinder engine with Bosch mechanical fuel injection, five-speed manual transmission, front and rear independent suspension, and four-wheel disc brakes. Wheelbase: 2,268 mm

Moteur six-cylindres à plat refroidi par air, 1 991 cm3, soupapes en tête, 170 ch, injection mécanique Bosch, transmission manuelle cinq rapports, suspension à quatre roues indépendantes, freins à disques sur les quatre roues. Empattement 2 268 mm.

This stunning 1969 Porsche 911 S is an original left-hand-drive version delivered to the US and finished in Light Ivory (6804) with a black basket-weave/leatherette interior. Documents accompanying the car note that a previous owner located the car as a “garage find” in 2008; it appeared to have not been driven since 1999. The 911 was then subject to a comprehensive two-year restoration costing nearly $100,000. Marque specialists Aasco Motors in Anaheim, California, completed the mechanical overhaul of the engine and transaxle, while Eurometrix of Boston, Massachusetts, rebuilt the throttle bodies, intakes, and linkage.

The chassis tub was disassembled, restored, and reassembled by TLG Auto in North Hollywood, California, with all new fasteners and bushings. Best of Show Coachworks media-blasted the tub to bare-metal, replaced the front pan and rocker panels, and repainted it in its original colour.

After its restoration, the car was sold to Great Britain and now currently resides in Spain, where it won “Best Porsche in Show” at the Autobello event in Madrid in 2014. The current owner has also finished the interior to GT Sports specification, with a reproduction rollbar, a pair of period-correct Recaro racing seats, Repa harnesses, a leather-wrapped 380-millimetre steering wheel, 911 R–inspired lightweight door cards, and lightweight Perlon carpeting with correct padding.

As offered here, this fine 911 S is fitted with a pair of period-correct H1 dual-bulb headlamps; a pair of fog lights; a correct tool kit, jack, and Space-saver spare tyre; and a set of new Michelin XWX radial tyres. There is a new battery, racing cut-off switch, and fire bottle. The car is supplied with an owner’s manual and a folio containing ownership and service records dating to 1972. The current owner notes that this desirable early 911 S is eligible to participate in the Tour Auto and Le Mans Classic.
