Just when it seemed impossible to improve on Porsche’s venerable 911, along came the 2018 GT3, a car described by multiple GT racing champion and Rolex Daytona 24 class winner Randy Pobst as possessing “an otherworldly kind of perfection.” That’s high praise indeed, but as history shows, the wizards of Zuffenhausen are unrelenting in their pursuit of perfection, as this stunning example demonstrates with typical Porsche boldness.
Sparingly driven just 5,400 miles, it announces its presence with flashing Guards Red paint and Satin Black-finished 20-inch alloy wheels wearing 305/30ZR20 Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires, its track-devouring capabilities obviated by the voluminous front fascia, black LED headlights with Porsche Dynamic Light System Plus (PDLS+), broad fenders and high-mounted rear wing. Complementing the GT3’s astonishing performance is a suite of interior appointments that make any kind of driving a genuine pleasure, beginning with Alcantara and black leather upholstery finished with contrasting red stitching and optional carbon fiber trim accents.
