This 2010 Lotus Evora represents the first all-new automobile from Lotus Cars since 1997 and the first two-plus-two since the 1992 Excel. Its name, derived from the words “evolution,” “vogue” and “aura,” was chosen to convey the optimistic new spirit developed at Lotus under returning CEO Mike Kimberly after a decade of uncertainty surrounding the company’s fortunes. A genuine two-plus-two in a lightweight sports car package, the Evora uses Toyota’s 3.5L V-6 engine remapped by Lotus, who also added an AP Racing flywheel and its proprietary Electric Throttle Control System to achieve 276 HP at 6,400 RPM.
Transversely mounted with a Lotus-modified Toyota 6-speed, the V-6 drives the Evora to 60 MPH in 4.9 seconds and a top speed of 162 MPH. With three-piece modular chassis/body assembly and racing-style wishbone suspension, the Evora was the most solid-feeling and smoothest-driving Lotus to its time. Its cockpit, while holding its passengers in form-fitting bucket seats, offers surprising front head and leg room, well-packaged instrumentation and ergonomic controls for the power windows and locks and AM/FM stereo.
Showing just 13,928 miles since new, this 2010 Lotus Evora presents in dramatic yellow with Pirelli P-Zero tires on black alloy wheels, black brake calipers and a black leather interior.
