The M100 Lotus Elan was a ground-breaking model for Lotus, and it was developed with the idea of reviving the original Elan's recipe for a fun and lightweight sports car. Having been in its current ownership for three years, this 1993 SE Turbo example has been meticulously well maintained and restored. It comes with all its original handbooks including a fully stamped service book.

Approximately £5,000 has been spent on the car to bring it up to its current condition. In 2020 a full engine rebuild was completed with all the parts bought from Lotus specialist SJS Sportscars. The turbo was also rebuilt at Midlands Turbo (with associated hoses change). The car has also received a new cam belt and tensioner, a new pair of NGK coils, new leads and new spark plugs. It is reported that 4 cam belts have been changed in the car's history.

Cosmetically, the car is also in excellent condition and has been recently submitted for paint correction in 2019. Other new features include two new clear indicator lenses, recent powder coating of the alloy wheels (with new wheel centres), new wheel bolts, a new grille and a new aerial. The hood is also in excellent condition. Inside, the car is also immaculate. The vendor has replaced the original half fabric grey seats with full leather that were retrimmed together with the door cards and inserts. After being recoloured, the stripes were then coloured in Rolls Royce blue to achieve a classic Lotus Elan look. All the electrics are reported to be working, bar an intermittent rev counter.

Other issues include a slight leak in the roof and a bonnet warp above the turbo (both are common Elan issues). Otherwise, this is an excellent example that is now ready to be driven and enjoyed by a new owner.
