The Lancia Beta Montecarlo is a mid-engined sports car which was produced from 1975 through to 1982. Cars from 1975 to 1978 were known as Lancia Beta Montecarlos and the latter cars produced from 1979 to 1982, simply as Lancia Montecarlos. Both series were offered in coupé and spider versions and were constructed by Pininfarina. The total production amounted to 3,835 first series Beta Montecarlos and 1,940 second series.
This lovely, privately owned, Montecarlo Spider is presented in red with contrasting beige trim and has been owned by the same family for the past 32 years. An unrestored and original car, this is a true survivor when many have either fallen away or been crudely restored. Having covered a mere 52,000 miles from new, our vendor inherited this car from his Lancia enthusiast uncle and founder member of the Montecarlo Consortium, to this day it is a treasured family heirloom and presents as such. Cared for by our vendors mechanic at Italian specialists Autofficina, this example even boast the original ANSA exhaust.
When purchased from the Devonshire dealer, the original owner, our vendors uncle made sure to specify the car with every conceivable option including air conditioning, Tarox disc brakes, the ANSA exhaust and twin Webber carburettors twinned to the upgraded cam, all for the princely sum of £5,500. This is a true treat for any Lancia fan, with an MoT test certificate valid until May 2020 and a history file to match, this is a unique opportunity to own and treasure the car just as our vendor has.
