Lancia added two exciting new versions of its Beta in 1973 one year after the launch of the saloon, the Beta Coupé and the Spider. Using shortened versions (92.5 inch instead of 100.0 inch) of the standard Beta, the Coupé and Spider offered their own unique sports styling.

The Spider, Lancia's first "open" model for many years, came with a huge range of engine options which included 1.3, 1.4, 1.6 and 2.0 litre units. The Spider had an unusual roof arrangement which featured removable "Targa" style panels above the driver/passenger and an independent folding rear "Hood" section. Although this type of roof was rather unconventional, it looked stylish and was more practical than other more traditional designs. It is interesting to note that all 9,390 of the Pininfarina designed Spiders were in fact built by Zagato

This Lancia Beta 2000 Spider Zagato was first registered on 20th May 1977 and is finished in the stunning colour combination of silver with tan leather interior. This top of the range 2.0 litre model oozes 1970s retro styling and has one of the most interesting interior spaces one is likely to find in any car. All EU taxes and duties have been paid on this lot.

Buyers should be aware that this lot has formed part of a large private collection and has been stood for some time in a heated environment so some remedial works may be required. Supplied with Italian registration documents, this Lancia Beta Spider offers fantastic open-top motoring and is a piece of genuine Italian exotica.
