In December 2013, Lamborghini held a major online reveal for the successor to its popular Gallardo supercar. Christened the Huracán after a historic Spanish fighting bull from the late 1800s, Lamborghini’s newest supercar made its first in-person public appearance at the 2014 Geneva Motor Show. Designed in-house by Lamborghini Design Director Filippo Perini, the angular, cab-forward Huracán featured a longitudinally midmounted, 5.2L, 90-degree V-10 engine (derived from the Lamborghini/Audi unit used in the Gallardo) with both direct and multipoint fuel injection that produced 602 HP at 8,250 RPM and 413 lb-ft of torque at 6,500 RPM.
The Huracán’s formidable power was then fed into a Lamborghini Doppia Frizione (LDF) 7-speed, dual-clutch automatic transmission that featured three preset driving modes (Strada, Sport, Corsa) working through an all-wheel drive system. In 2017, after several years of production, Lamborghini began offering a track-oriented version known as the Huracán LP 640-4 Performante. In addition to exterior changes that included carbon fiber bumpers and an active aero rear wing, the Performante’s 5.2L engine received an upgrade, giving it 631 HP and 443 lb-ft of torque. These changes enabled the Performante to accelerate from zero to 60 MPH in a whip-fast 2.9 seconds with a top speed of 200 MPH.
This limited-production 2018 Lamborghini Huracán Performante is finished in white over a black Alcantara-trimmed bucket seat interior. Equipped with Lamborghini’s high-performance ALA system that dynamically adjusts the cars aerodynamic profile for optimum performance, this limited production Huracán also features 4-wheel disc brakes with carbon ceramic discs, ABS and red-painted calipers, as well as factory 20-inch, black, forged, five-spoke wheels shod with Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires. Offered with 19,893 miles on the odometer, this Lamborghini also has cruise control, tinted windows, traction and stability control, and power windows and locks.
