A charming, UK-supplied, right-hand drive 500 Lusso restored and upgraded with a 650cc engine.
The Lusso version of the Fiat 500, produced between 1968 and 1972, featured enhanced trim, additional brightwork and a more modern interior than earlier cars and is now regarded as one of the more desirable variants within the model range. This UK-supplied, 1969 registered, right-hand drive example was subject to a full nut and bolt restoration around ten years ago. Finished in Rosso with correct Lusso bumpers and badge bar, sitting on whitewall tyres and further enhanced by a sun roof, chrome luggage rack and fitted picnic basket, all presenting well following restoration.
Powered by an upgraded 650cc engine, replacing the original unit at some point, we understand from our vendor that it starts readily and drives as it should, offering sprightly performance well suited to the car’s lightweight design. Upgrades from standard include the aforementioned engine increase along with period-style exterior accessories, chosen to complement the character and appearance of this late 1960s city car.
