This car was originally raced by Mark Martin in 2010 as a no. 5 car before becoming a no. 24 back-up car for Jeff Gordon, never ran in competition. Jeff Gordon drove the No. 24 Chevrolet stock car in the NASCAR Cup Series for 23 seasons and is a member of the NASCAR Hall of Fame. This 2010 Impala wears No. 24 proudly on the side and roof of the body, and it features vibrant colors, courtesy of its primary sponsor DuPont. The chassis (No. 0810620) is detailed very nicely, with a Hendrick Motorsports-prepared suspension and Ford 9-inch floater rear end. The Sweet power steering system works flawlessly, and the Goodyear Eagle racing tires are ready for action.
The engine is a NASCAR Cup Series R07, which is rebuilt to original specifications. The 358 CI engine features an Auto Verdi dry-sump oiling system, complete with Kevlar lines and an aluminum tank. The drivetrain consists of a G-Force 4-speed manual transmission featuring a Tilton bellhousing and clutch system. A Spec racing computer-chipped gauge system, a Shultz refueling valve and Lifeline fire suppression system are additional race-ready components in this Impala stock car. The body is in iconic DuPont paint scheme. Inside you’ll find a carbon fiber driver containment seat, safety harnesses, window net and other NASCAR-mandated safety equipment.
This car is not street legal and is sold on a bill of sale. Although Jeff Gordon retired from full-time NASCAR racing in 2015, he’s still a recognizable figure in the sport and will go down in the history books as one of the greatest drivers of all time.
