This custom four-wheel-drive 1972 Chevrolet K5 Blazer was acquired in 2019 and underwent an extensive professional 800-hour restoration with modifications in 2023 by premier builder JF Kustoms of Osoyoos, British Columbia, Canada. The restoration started with an original factory body. It is powered by a 6.0-liter LS-based LQ4 V8 engine paired with a 3-speed automatic transmission, complemented by a dual-range transfer case and a posi-traction limited-slip rear differential. Upgrades to the chassis include a 4-inch Rough Country suspension lift and Rancho shocks.
It is also equipped with power steering, power brakes and an aluminum radiator equipped with electric fans, and breathes out of headers with a MagnaFlow exhaust system. After the body was removed from the frame and mounted on a rotisserie, the Blazer was repainted in green. The exterior features an egg-crate grille, wood-grain accents, chrome bumpers and a fully restored hardtop. It rides on 15-inch Rally-style wheels wrapped in BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A tires. Inside, the cabin showcases TMI front bucket seats and a rear bench seat trimmed in tan leather with plaid cloth inserts.
It features modern conveniences such as a roll bar, air conditioning, modern digital gauges and a RetroSound stereo with Bluetooth. The interior is further enhanced by a wood-grain glovebox door, body-color dash panel and a leather dash pad. This K5 Blazer has 300 test miles and an extensive YouTube video documentation at 'Killer Kustoms' showcasing the rebuild and modifications.
