Once a separate marque, upon being purchased by David Brown in 1947, the Lagonda name has been utilized by Aston Martin to create highly bespoke, extremely luxurious vehicles for their most privileged clients. In 1983, the brand partnered with engineering subsidy Tickford to produce just 11 even more exclusive Lagondas – presented here is chassis 13178, one of these ultra-rare top-of-the-line models, which is believed to have been originally purchased by a royal family in the Middle East.

The regular Lagonda was already classically 1980s in styling, with a wedge-like body with pop-up headlamps, and an interior filled with fully digital instrumentation. To up the ante, the Tickford Lagonda added coloured aluminium side skirts, a front air dam, and 15-in. colour-coded BBS cross-spoke wheels. Inside, the new owner could order a variety of options. Chassis 13178, painted in Rolls Royce Ice Green and delivered to Jersey in July of 1982, is equipped with a sunroof, and rear seat pockets.

Chassis 13178 was acquired by the consignor in 2016 after an extensive service with marque specialist Nicholas Mee. It has remained in storage since with just over 15,000 km on its odometer. An excellent piece of Aston Martin history, this Tickford Lagonda presents a unique opportunity for any admirer of the classic British marque.

Marque d'abord indépendante, le nom Lagonda a été, après le rachat par David Brown en 1947, utilisé par Aston Martin pour créer des véhicules de très grand luxe et fabriqués en petite série pour ses clients les plus privilégiés. Celle que nous présentons ici, châssis n°13178, est une de ces versions de très haut de gamme, extrêmement rares ; elle aurait été achetée à l'origine par une famille royale du Moyen-Orient.

La Lagonda "standard" affichait déjà un style classique des années 1980, avec une carrosserie à forme "en coin", des phares escamotables et un habitacle doté d'une instrumentation complètement digitale. Pour aller encore plus loin, la Lagonda Tickford affichait des jupes latérales de teinte aluminium, un spoiler avant, des jantes BBS 15 pouces de couleur carrosserie et, à l'intérieur, il était possible de commander de nombreuses options. Cette voiture (châssis n°13178), de teinte "Rolls Royce Ice Green" et équipée d'un toit ouvrant et de vide-poches de sièges arrière, a été livrée à Jersey en juillet 1982.

Elle a été achetée en 2016 par son actuel propriétaire, après une révision complète chez le spécialiste de la marque Nicholas Mee. Elle est restée entreposée depuis et affiche à peine plus de 15 000 km au compteur. Superbe pièce de l'histoire d'Aston Martin, cette Lagonda Tickford présente une opportunité unique pour tout admirateur de la célèbre marque britannique.
