First introduced in 1972, the Alfetta family was extended in 1974 with the arrival of a Giorgetto Giugiaro-styled coupé,¬ the 1.8-litre GT, which was followed by the GT 1.6 and GTV 2.0. The latter's larger motor produced 122bhp – good enough for a top speed of 194km/h (120mph). A comfortable and capable Gran Turismo, the GTV 2.0 remained in production until 1987.
Delivered new to its first owner in Pavia, Northern Italy, this beautifully presented Alfetta GTV 2.0 is strikingly finished in Argento metallic with a black pinstripe interior. The subsequent two custodians were also Pavia residents and, judging from the car's condition, cherished it like the first. The velour upholstery shows hardly any signs of use; the engine bay is very tidy with no apparent signs of rust; and the classic four-cylinder Alfa engine performed beautifully on a recent short test-drive. The current owner has been informed that the engine had a major overhaul only some 500 kilometres ago, and the current odometer reading of just over 81,000 kilometres is believed correct.
Unusually, this particular car was optioned with electric windows and, more importantly, a factory air conditioning unit: an unusually generous specification for one of these early 1980s Alfa Romeos. Offered with Italian registration documents.

Livrée neuve à son premier propriétaire à Pavie, en Italie du nord, cette magnifique Alfetta GTV 2000 est gris Argento métallisé avec intérieur noir à rayures. Les deux propriétaires suivants résidaient eux aussi à Pavie et, à en juger par l'état de la voiture, l'ont aussi bien dorlotée que le premier. La sellerie en velours montre à peine quelques traces d'usure, le compartiment moteur est très propre avec aucun signe apparent d'oxydation et le classique quatre cylindres Alfa Romeo a marché à la perfection lors d'un récent essai.
On a affirmé au propriétaire actuel que le moteur avait subi une révision complète il y a à peine 500 kilomètres et que l'affichage actuel du compteur de 81 000 kilomètres est correct. Cette voiture a reçu les options inhabituels de vitres électriques et, surtout, d'une climatisation d'origine, une caractéristique appréciable et rare pour une de ces Alfa Romeo du début des années 1980. Vendue avec ses papiers d'immatriculation italienne.
