This particular Abarth 695, one of approximately 1,000 SS examples built, is surely one of the most special. Though many Abarth 695 SS’ prove to be of questionable authenticity, chassis 1060634 features rock-solid provenance and documentation proving it to be one of roughly 1,000 examples built. Delivered new to the United States, it spent many years in the state of Georgia and has passed through the hands of just four documented owners.

In addition to its provenance, the car carries several other signs of authenticity, including a proper Abarth chassis stamp in the characteristic font, as well as the remnants of the almost impossible-to-find original factory Abarth sticker, which can be found on the car bonnet, and original paper Abarth sticker of the U.S. importer on the edge of the door.

Today it remains in overwhelmingly original condition, including its original interior and bodywork, which was repainted by its second owner in the 1980s. Having undergone a recent mechanical overhaul, including a freshly rebuilt engine with all-original Abarth parts including the original Abarth block and crankshaft, the car is now fitted with a rare and desirable ‘Group 2’ cylinder head, an expensive period accessory to improve horsepower. It is fully drivable and roadworthy and has covered some 500 km since the work was completed.

One of the most original, most authentic, and most desirable Abarth 695 SS available anywhere in the world, it is a true must-own for any Abarth collector or anyone interested in rare Italian offerings.

Elle dispose par ailleurs de plusieurs preuves d'authenticité, dont un marquage Abarth frappé sur son soubassement dans la police caractéristique de la marque, ainsi que, sur son capot, des restes d'autocollants de l'usine Abarth, d'origine et quasiment impossible à retrouver, et sur le bord d'une porte, l'autocollant Abarth d'origine de l'importateur américain.

Elle est à ce jour dans un état d'authenticité impressionnant, avec un intérieur et une carrosserie d'origine, cette dernière ayant été repeinte par son deuxième propriétaire dans les années 1980. Elle a récemment bénéficié d'une restauration mécanique, dont une réfection de son moteur ayant fait appel à des pièces Abarth entièrement d'origine, en particulier le bloc cylindres et le vilebrequin d'origine, et a été dotée d'une rare et appréciable culasse Groupe 2, un coûteux accessoire d'époque qui permettait d'augmenter la puissance. Parfaitement roulante et en état de marche, elle a parcouru 500 km depuis que ces travaux ont été effectués.
