Its chassis was an entirely new design in - mostly - aluminium, featuring a central tunnel and rear bulkhead in carbon fibre for increased stiffness. Powering the newcomer was a development of the 5.2-litre V10 shared with the outgoing Gallardo, which delivered its 610PS to the road via a seven-speed, dual clutch, electronically controlled, four-wheel drive transmission system. The compact coupé bodywork was typically Lamborghini, boasting its manufacturer's customary combination of smooth curves and sharp edges. This low-drag shape enabled the Huracán to breach the all-important 200mph benchmark, albeit by only two miles per hour, with the 0-97km/h (0-60mph) dash accomplished in a mere 2.5 seconds.
