Conceived to pay homage to the Lotus Formula 1 racing machines that compiled seven F1 World Championships, the LF1 was limited to 81 cars, each sequentially celebrating a specific Lotus Grand Prix victory from the first at the 1960 Monaco Grand Prix with Stirling Moss at the wheel to car No. 81 commemorating Kimi Raikkonen’s win in Australia in 2013. This is car No. 42, which pays homage to Brazilian Emerson Fittipaldi’s victory in the 1970 United States Grand Prix at Watkins Glen, New York. It is fully equipped to produce the most exhilarating track experience possible, combining a strong but lightweight chassis with a Lotus Performance-spec supercharged 3.5L V-6 engine outputting 345 HP and 295 lb-ft of torque through a 6-speed manual gearbox to produce a hair-raising 0-60 MPH time of 3.8 seconds and a top speed of 170 MPH. The black and gold livery recalls the John Player Specials of Mario Andretti and Ayrton Senna fame, complete with gold-painted 17-inch front and 18-inch rear alloy wheels carrying Pirelli P-Zero performance radial tires and all-wheel disc brakes using red-painted Lotus calipers. The snug cockpit provides the perfect environment for serious fun: a full roll cage and Schroth racing harnesses, a MOMO steering wheel and “tight but light” console-mounted shifter, a Lifeline Zero 2000 fire-extinguisher system and the exclusivity of a numbered carbon-fiber build plate and special contrasting gold stitching on the fine, black, leather upholstery found throughout. This very exclusive 2015 Lotus Exige LF1 V-6 Cup delivers astounding performance in a package that is entirely worthy of the Lotus name. https://www.mecum.com/lots/299856/2015-lotus-exige-lf1-v-6-cup/
