As on past occasions, Chevrolet commemorated the event by offering a special Indy 500 Pace Car Edition, producing 663 for the buying public. The factory Pace Car Edition Z28 utilized special Black-over-White paint with mutli-colored ribbon graphics and special matching interior fabric. An LT1 350/275 HP engine, 4-speed automatic, 4-wheel power disc brakes, power steering, air conditioning, power windows and special White-painted 16-inch aluminum wheels are also part of the Pace Car package, all of which are found in this outstanding example from the Verde Classics Collection.
