The Brabus 800 is so loud and flashy that it can sometimes feel a little embarrassing—people turn around long before the car even arrives. When I pull onto Sheikh Zayed Road, I immediately feel that this isn’t just an SUV, but a real beast. The acceleration is so abrupt that I sometimes grip the steering wheel harder than usual with both hands. It’s funny being stuck in traffic in it—you’re standing still like everyone else, but it feels as if all the cars around you are toys. The interior is very comfortable, and the music drowns out the engine if you want some peace and quiet, though more often I enjoy that roar. On the highway, it’s easy to drive fast, but fuel consumption is enormous, so I have to refuel often. Parking in the city is difficult—the size and all the attention get in the way, but every time I get out and look at it, I realize it’s not just transportation; it’s part of my image and my mood.
