The Suzuki Jimny is a compact, rugged off-road vehicle known for its durability and versatility. First introduced in 1968, it has evolved through several generations while maintaining its iconic boxy design. The Jimny's small size and lightweight nature make it incredibly agile, perfect for navigating tight trails and rough terrain. Despite its compact exterior, the vehicle is equipped with a 4x4 drivetrain, solid axles, and a low-range gearbox, making it a capable off-roader. It's a popular choice for adventure enthusiasts and those seeking a vehicle for urban use with off-road capabilities.
While it might not offer the high-tech features of larger SUVs, the Jimny’s charm lies in its simplicity and reliability. Its ‘fun-to-drive’ nature and strong off-road performance have earned it a loyal fan base around the world.
The eagled eyed readers may have noticed this isn’t quite a normal Jimny. Our vendor saw a rendering of a six wheeled concept when this new Jimny was released and decided to set about building his own. This Jimny started life in Japan and was imported into the UK by our vendor a few years ago as a regular automatic completely standard example. The project was undertaken by Mocho Fabrication in Broadway in the Cotswolds, who extended the sides of the body, extended the chassis legs, fitted a third axle using genuine Suzuki parts, made custom rear arches using genuine Suzuki Jimny arches to accommodate the third axle and built the rear bed.
Structurally, this was a huge project, the whole build was carried out by Mocho and has been finished to an extremely high standard and uses many genuine Suzuki parts from a donor Jimny. The body was fully resprayed in the ever-popular Audi Nardo Grey, with the interior being retrimmed to a high standard in black and light grey quilted leather. Another addition to the cabin is Kenwood Apple CarPlay, meaning this Jimny is on par with the technology everyone has come to expect of a modern vehicle. A set of brand new all-terrain tyres have been fitted and two spare wheels are also included in the sale.
Supplied to auction with a V5 registration document and MoT test certificate valid until February 2026, this Jimny would be an amazing marketing tool for many companies or could just be a fun vehicle to use this summer, it is sure to draw a crowd everywhere it goes. Consigned by Fraser Smith
