First registered 1st of January 1996, this example is also likely to be one of the first UK2000 Imprezas to be sold. It also has matching numbers for the chassis on both the gearbox and engine, which is very rare for such an early Impreza. It is believed that the car was gifted to Jimmy or sold at a heavily reduced price. Documentation with the car includes a copy of its original bill of sale from Subaru UK as well as a V5 document with a McRae Motorsport registered address. History also includes original manuals with a stamped service book, old MOTs, tax discs, V5s and parts receipts. The service stamps for its first three years are from the dealer located near to the McRae family estate.
The vendor has carried out a mechanical restoration on the car including a complete engine rebuild to standard form with new gaskets, cambelt and pumps, as well as rebuilt ancillaries. The block was checked, cleaned and honed before being rebuilt. The car is also fitted with a new factory exhaust system, a new battery, new tyres all-round and fresh fluids. The car now requires some bodywork restoration to make it road worthy again if the new owner desires, but the car is still very useable and running and driving as it should.
