A rare and highly significant example of the Rover Special Products Mini Cooper RSP, produced to reintroduce the Cooper name and offered here with the desirable and seldom-seen factory Cooper S conversion. One of 1,050 UK-supplied RSP Minis and number 393 produced, this example being number 38-S of just 78 cars converted to Cooper S specification by John Cooper Garages, complete with original invoices, conversion certificate signed by John Cooper and supporting documentation. Indicating just 50,050 miles at the time of cataloguing and supplied with a recent MOT.
Finished in British Racing Green with white roof, bonnet stripes and mirrors, with bodywork and interior presented in very good order and complemented by distinctive red carpets and upgraded Corbeau front seats. Powered by the Metro-derived 1,275cc engine upgraded to Cooper S specification including correct blue Cooper cylinder head, twin 1¼" SU carburettors and performance exhaust system. Factory-option Handling Pack fitted including wider tyres, wheel spacers and uprated shock absorbers, with a Mini Cooper sump guard also installed. Comprehensive history file including original sales invoice and service records dating back to 1990/1991, with recent suspension renewal completed in 2025.
