The Rover company manufactured cars between 1904 and 1967, when it was sold to Leyland Motor Corporation, becoming the Rover marque. The Rover marque was used on cars produced by British Leyland (BL), who separated the assets of the original Rover Company as Land Rover in 1978 whilst the Rover trademark continued to be used on vehicles produced by its successor companies. The Rover 14 was a medium-sized family car manufactured between 1924 and 1948. Civilian automobile production was interrupted in 1940 because of the war; however, when the war ended in 1945, the Rover 14 returned to the market and remained available until replaced by the Rover 75 at the beginning of 1948.

This Rover 14 presents particularly well in the attractive two-tone blue and black coachwork with a stunning blue interior. The car was purchased in 2010 as a ‘barn find’ and has clearly undergone a significant amount of restoration work since then, though sadly the related invoices have been misplaced by a previous owner. Our vendor understands that the interior retrim alone cost in the region of £14,000 and it certainly looks it! The exterior of the car also presents well, it is understood it was fully resprayed as part of the restoration. Supplied with a V5C registration document, an original instruction manual, old MoT test certificates, tax discs and sundry bills for parts over the years. Consigned by Fraser Smith
