With less than 30 miles on the odometer, this 2009 Pontiac Solstice GXP coupe presents exquisitely well. Finished in Hydro Blue Metallic, only 26 Solstice coupes left the factory in that color, making it the lowest production color except for Santiago Teal Metallic, of which only one was built. The GXP differed from the regular Solstice as it was powered by a 2.0L/260 HP turbocharged inline 4-cylinder engine and a 5-speed manual transmission. Matching the horsepower with 260 lb-ft of torque, this engine was the most powerful production engine by cubic inches produced by GM at the time, with 2.1 HP per cubic inches.
Capable of sprinting from 0-60 in 5.5-seconds, the Solstice was a ferocious competitor against cars with much larger and more powerful engines. This one is well optioned with the Premium Package, air conditioning and the Monsoon sound system with SiriusXM radio. Rolling on 18-inch wheels with low-profile tires, a total of 1,266 Solstice coupes were built. The Solstice coupe was the perfect complement to the convertible. With a removable center section roof panel, the car’s personality could be transformed quickly from closed-top sports car to open-top thrill seeker in just a couple of minutes.
Add the GXP package and the Solstice took on a whole new personality, one itching to go toe-to-toe with the likes of Corvettes and 911s, surprising those drivers with its overall performance prowess.
