When the retro-inspired Prowler debuted in 1997, its classic Hot Rod styling seemed almost an impossibility given the contemporary safety standards, but it met those challenges with sophisticated engineering and revolutionary fabrication techniques that included extensive use of lightweight aluminum components and adhesive bonding technologies. The Prowler represented a change in thinking at Chrysler Corporation, whose management had relearned the value of low-production concept cars meant to entice buyers into showrooms, a task the Prowler met with great success.
