The 205 GTI Le Mans is a limited edition of 84 examples, reserved for the Swedish market. Based on a catalyzed 1.9L GTI, this special edition comes with specific features, including a wooden steering wheel and gear knob, heated seats, a "Hella" auxiliary light between the headlights, front mud flaps, anti-corrosion treatment of the chassis, and an engine preheating system to make starting easier in extreme cold. This example was delivered new to Mr. Gustafsson through the dealer Klangs Bilservice AB in Lidköping, Sweden, on January 30, 1991. Our 205 left Sweden for France in 2019, before being acquired by its current owner at the end of 2021.
Our collector then undertook a complete restoration of the bodywork, stripping the shell and giving it a zinc treatment before finishing it in the model-specific Miami Blue. Mechanically, the running gear and braking system were completely refurbished, along with a service. This 205 Le Mans now shows 199,380 km on the odometer and comes with all its Swedish and French technical inspection reports, documenting the mileage progression, as well as its service books. Finding a 205 Le Mans is rare; this example, having benefited from an extensive restoration, is now presented in exceptional condition.
