  • No reserve

The Peugeot 205 GTI, especially in its powerful 1.9 version, has become a grail for a whole generation of former drivers and new collectors, while beautiful, strictly original examples continue to become rarer. This exceptional example was bought new in the early 1990s by a Parisian Honorary Consul from the Peugeot dealer in Avallon, not far from his second home. As a demanding man, he chose black leather upholstery to match the bodywork, as well as all the options then available in the catalogue: sunroof, power steering, ABS, air conditioning and full leather interior.

As part of his diplomatic duties, this diplomat had official cars and the beautiful 205 was used only occasionally by his wife for short trips until the early 2000s, when she was no longer able to drive it. The car then had less than 14,000 original km on the clock, and its owner continued to take it out of his heated garage regularly. Today, it has covered 14,500 km since leaving the factory and has retained most of its original paintwork. When the door is opened, the new-car smell is immediately noticeable, and the superb leather shows no signs of wear, while the sporty red carpets are unmarked.

We inspected the underbody, which is also in exceptional condition. This GTI has just been serviced at Peugeot G2 in Triel-sur-Seine, a leading specialist in the model, and the first stamp has been added to its service booklet! The timing belt, tyres and fuel pumps have been replaced, and the total bill came to nearly €4,000. Having had only one owner from new and being in exceptionally original condition, this 205 GTI is also an uncatalysed version with the most powerful 130 hp engine. It is therefore the most desirable version, with the best specifications and exceptionally low mileage.

Finding an example with so many qualities has now become quite a challenge, and even the most demanding connoisseurs can only appreciate it. French title - Incredible state of preservation - Equipped with all the period options - Recently serviced by Peugeot, service books - One owner from new, less than 14,500 km - No reserve. It is therefore the most desirable version, in the best specification, with just 14,500 km on the clock since leaving the factory. An exceptional and rarely seen 205 GTI in this condition, ready to satisfy the nostalgia of the most demanding enthusiast.
