This custom 1958 MG MGA began life as a 1500cc roadster and has since been comprehensively reengineered with custom V8 power. That power is provided by a Ford 289ci V8 engine fitted with Cobra-style valve covers and air cleaner, an MSD ignition system, an aluminum intake manifold, chrome pulleys and an aluminum radiator with silicone hoses, paired with a Ford C4 automatic transmission. Power is delivered to a Ford 8-inch rear axle that was shortened by Moser to fit the MGA chassis. The chassis has been reinforced to accommodate the increased output and front power disc brakes have been installed.
The exterior is finished in Orient Red and features period-style lighting, including classic-look headlights and Series II MGA-style taillights, along with subtle side-exit exhaust outlets positioned ahead of the rear wheels. Gray-centered Minilite knock-off-style wheels with polished lips are wrapped in modern radial tires. The interior is trimmed in black vinyl and includes reupholstered seats, fresh carpeting and a vinyl-trimmed dashboard fitted with classic-look modern instrumentation, including a 10,000-rpm tachometer, a 140-mph speedometer and auxiliary gauges.
Additional equipment includes a small-diameter three-spoke steering wheel, upgraded stereo components with a trunk-mounted six-disc CD changer and a hardwired battery cutoff switch located in the trunk.
