Unleashed for 2020, the stunning McLaren Speedtail is the company’s most aerodynamically efficient car and the fastest to date. Powered by a 4.0L/1,035 HP M840T twin-turbocharged V-8 engine and parallel eMotor hybrid system mated to a 7-speed Graziano dual-clutch automatic transmission, the Speedtail is a stunning hypercar in all respects. Handling its electrifying performance is an aluminum-alloy, adjustable multilink suspension and carbon ceramic disc brakes at all four corners. Preproduction testing included no fewer than 30 speed runs over 250 MPH, the last at the NASA Space Shuttle landing runway at Florida’s Kennedy Space Center.

Designed and engineered with McLaren’s “everything for a reason” dictum, the Speedtail’s sleek carbon fiber body and elongated tail are major contributors to aerodynamic efficiency and speed potential, along with the elimination of all unnecessary body gaps and shut lines. Paying homage to the revered, Le Mans-winning F1 of the 1990s, the Speedtail features dihedral doors, a three-place passenger compartment and a central driver’s seat. Cameras, rather than traditional mirrors, automatically deploy from each side of the Speedtail at a touch of the start button.

Startling luxury and personalization via the bespoke MSO (McLaren Special Operations) program ensure no two Speedtails are truly alike. Offered with 2,212 miles, this Speedtail is a special example of its already rare breed, equipped with over an estimated $1 million in options, making it the most expensive Speedtail ever produced. Among its many features, this Speedtail is one of three produced with 1K titanium-infused tinted carbon fiber weave, a $560,000 option alone, and it is the only Speedtail produced with the 1K carbon fiber with contour packs option.

Furthering its distinction, this car is “XP3,” short for Experimental Prototype 3, used by McLaren for the development of the contour packs, 1K carbon and TPT carbon options, plus electrical and leather testing. Additionally, the central driver’s seat was lowered 1 inch. Riding on an adjustable multilink suspension made of lightweight aluminum alloy, this Speedtail is unforgettable with its blue brake calipers, the Secondary 1K carbon pack including the wiper blade and front wheel covers, Burton Blue center-lock wheel rings and calipers, and dihedral doors. Other exterior highlights include the flexible carbon fiber aerofoils and 1K carbon fiber roof air scoop.

While capable of extreme performance, this Speedtail is well equipped with a wireless charging pad, 24-karat gold heat shielding (a $35,000 option), plus a Bowers and Wilkins stereo system, digital rearview mirrors, a suite of digital displays, TPT carbon fiber accents to the steering wheel and shift paddles, electrochromic glass, and platinum front and rear badging. Completing this amazing vehicle are 10-spoke lightweight wheels, Pirelli P-Zero tires and two keys.
