Nestled in the center of the carbon-reinforced polymer MonoCell chassis is a twin turbocharged 3.8-liter V-8 engine rated for 641 horsepower and 500 lb-ft of torque. The engine is equipped with McLaren factory sports exhaust for tuned extraction of maximum horsepower and a race-bred sound especially with the roof down. Distributing the horsepower to the ground with superhuman precision is the 7-speed dual-clutch seamless-shift automated gearbox. Carbon-ceramic disc brakes feature orange-finish 6-piston calipers in front and 4-piston calipers in the rear.
