The 641-horsepower engine enables the McLaren 650S Spider to dispatch 0-60 MPH in 2.9 seconds, roar past 100 MPH in just 5.9 seconds and achieve a top speed of more than 200 miles per hour. Nestled in the center of the carbon-reinforced polymer MonoCell chassis is a twin turbocharged 3.8-liter V-8 engine rated for 641 horsepower and 500 lb-ft of torque. The engine is equipped with McLaren factory sports exhaust for tuned extraction of maximum horsepower and a race-bred sound especially with the roof down. Distributing the horsepower to the ground with superhuman precision is the 7-speed dual-clutch seamless-shift automated gearbox. Carbon-ceramic disc brakes feature orange-finish 6-piston calipers in front and 4-piston calipers in the rear. Anti-lock brakes work with traction and electronic stability control for driver enhancement.
The McLaren 650S rides on forged alloy wheels and Pirelli P-Zero Corsa tires. Race car-defining McLaren Orange 3-stage painted bodywork is accented by a carbon-fiber package and stealth-finish carbon-fiber side-cooling intakes. Inside the cockpit are supercar-level appointments. Black Alcantara envelops the driver and passenger with high lateral grip and sporting comfort. Heated memory seats are focused on the race-crafted steering wheel and F1-inspired gearshift. The center-mount Active Dynamic Control panel provides access to the 650S Spider driving modes.
