Chassis No.: 1187P

Engine No.: V25535

Registration: GHS 429K

The Lotus Europa Twincam was introduced in 1971, and was renowned for its innovative design and lightweight construction. The Europa featured a fiberglass body mounted on a sturdy steel chassis, ensuring agility and performance. The Twincam variant is powered by a 1.6-litre Lotus-Ford twin-cam engine, producing around 126bhp, enabling it to deliver exhilarating acceleration and nimble handling that Lotus is famous for. With its distinctive wedge shape and low profile, the Europa’s design was both avant-garde and aerodynamic, capturing attention on and off the track. The interior, though minimalist, offered a driver-focused experience with supportive seating and clear instrumentation. The Europa Twincam excelled in motorsport, showcasing Lotus’s engineering prowess.

This example presents in excellent condition, the red paintwork gleams and the black interior is very sharp too. Areas to improve cosmetically would be some of the exterior brightwork and the interior wooden dashboard, but the overall appearance of the car is very fair and it can certainly continue to be used and enjoyed as it is. The car underwent a large amount of restoration work in the early 1990’s, with various bills totalling a few thousand pounds for an extensive engine rebuild and various other works between 1991-1992, with the car having covered only circa 8,000 miles since then.

Our vendor has enjoyed the car but has decided it isn’t getting as much use as it deserves, so has made the decision to let it go to its next custodian. The car is supplied with a V5C registration document, and a history file containing many bills for works over the years. Consigned by Fraser Smith
