The Lotus Elan was first introduced in 1962 as a roadster and then as a coupé version in 1965. Over the years the Elan evolved into one of the most legendary compact sports cars ever created. The Elan was technically advanced with its twin-cam 1558cc engine, 4-wheel disc brakes, and 4-wheel independent suspension. It could reach 60mph in just 7.8 seconds and hit a top speed of 122mph. SE variants featured an increased power output of 118bhp and an upgraded close ratio gearbox.

The lightweight, powerful and agile performance make the Elan a great car to drive and even nowadays there are few cars more satisfying to drive.This Elan 2+2 is supplied with a V5C registration document with the registration TYR 761F and has been off the road for many years. A quite literal barn find, this example was discovered by the current owner a few years ago. However, due to numerous other projects, this car has been untouched since and remains in a complete but derelict state. The engine has not been started but all components are there and offered at no reserve, this little Lotus could be the bargain of the sale.
