Popularly known as "The Great One," legendary actor and entertainer Jackie Gleason ordered this 1978 Lincoln Continental brand-new and had it custom-built into a stretched executive limousine by Moloney Coach Builders. Ford's 4-barrel, 460/210hp V8 engine was available for one last model year in 1978, and this potent powerplant was selected by Mr. Gleason, of course, paired with an automatic transmission.
According to known history, the limousine was transferred to the owner of a touring bus company, who acquired the Lincoln from Jackie Gleason's estate and, in turn, the car was acquired by the husband of Ricky Page, a singer with The Nashville Edition and a backup singer for eight years on the long-running TV show, "Hee Haw." Ms. Page also used the Lincoln while touring with country legends David Allan Coe and Lynn Anderson. The next owner was Jerry Randrup, brother-in-law to Ricky Page. Mr. Randrup was very proud of this special Lincoln, sharing it with appreciative viewers at various car shows. It was also featured on an episode of "Pawn Stars." Dr. Berkowitz acquired it from Mr.
Randrup in 2012. Documents include copies of the Manufacturer's Statement of Origin (MSO), original Florida title application, original Florida title and a 1993-dated letter confirming original ownership by Peekskill Enterprises, Inc., Mr. Gleason's company. From The Dr. Stewart A. Berkowitz Collection.
