As the sun shone over Cordoba, Spain on the afternoon of October 5, 1879, a great bull named Murcielago made his first charge at a great Spanish matador named Rafael Molina. The two duelled until the final stage of the bullfight, when tradition held that Molina would plunge his sword through the bull’s heart. Instead, because Molina was so impressed with his opponent’s indomitable spirit and brute strength, he chose to honor it before the assembled crowd by sparing its life. Thus did the name Murcielago become the stuff of legend.

That hallowed name was revived for the likewise spirited and powerful third generation supercar to issue from Lamborghini’s headquarters in Sant’Agata Bolognese, Italy. With its forward-raked cabin, scissor opening doors and high rear deck, the Murcielago is unmistakably Lamborghini, a fact backed up by its 6.2L/600 HP longitudinal V-12 engine and the appeal of its Italian leather-upholstered cockpit, which resembles that of a corporate jet more than almost any other automotive conveyance of any calibre. The Murcielago combines an all-new 6-speed manual transmission with the Diablo-sourced all-wheel drive system to take full advantage of its 600 horsepower.

This 2003 Lamborghini Murcielago presents in luminous Pearl Yellow Metallic Tricoat paint, quite possibly one of the most entrancing finishes ever to appear on an automobile, and is fitted with a Black interior and Black Forgiato alloys with Nitto Extreme ZR tires. It underwent a comprehensive service in Miami, Florida in 2014 that included the installation of a new carbon clutch, pressure plate and fluids. It is offered with a clean Carfax, receipts totalling nearly $8,000 and 16,500 actual miles
