Named for a most difficult breed of bull, the Gallardo was a ferocious fighting beast, much like this 2008 Lamborghini Gallardo Spyder. Finished in Pearl Yellow under a black canvas soft top with two-tone Nero Perseus and Giallo Taurus single-needle stitched leather interior, this machine sports a purposeful stance. Inside the cockpit, the bright yellow seats include both power adjustability and heating for seasonably cold mornings. Rolling on silver Callisto wheels, yellow brake calipers help stop the Gallardo Spyder in a timely fashion as well as provide a nice contrast to the searing bright paint that adorns the exterior.
Power for this mid-engine “Raging Bull” comes from a 5.0L/500 HP V-10 DOHC engine mated to Lamborghini’s E-gear 6-speed select-shift automatic transmission that sports paddle shifters and is designed to shift faster than a manual transmission. All of the V-10’s raucous power is delivered securely to the pavement through an all-wheel-drive system, giving a driver confidence to push this drop top to its limits. There is little question that the Gallardo represented a significant milestone for Lamborghini.
It’s no secret that the firm struggled for solvency throughout its storied history, but that all changed when Volkswagen Group purchased the Italian supercar manufacturer in 1998 and put Audi in charge of stewardship of the Lamborghini brand. Audi delicately balanced the Italian passion that is such an important part of the overall driving experience with German precision to give the 21st-century Lamborghinis the highest build quality in the firm’s history. The Gallardo became Lamborghini’s best-selling car ever, with more than 14,000 examples produced in more than a decade of production. This particular Gallardo Spyder comes with a tool kit, air inflator and car cover.
Showing a mere 12,194 miles on the odometer, this stunning machine will grant its new owner the open-air Lamborghini experience.
