No ordinary 2012 Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4, this particular example has been extensively modified with power settings that enable horsepower delivery ranging from 1,200 to 1,600 HP upon selection. Set at the maximum 1,600 HP output, this Aventador now has a power-to-weight ratio of just 2.17 to 1—a 3,473-pound curb weight offset by 1,600 HP—an astounding performance index that looks good even next to the best hypercars ever built. Engineered by Underground Racing of Charlotte, North Carolina, this Aventador now has a twin-turbo forced-induction system combined with an air-to-water intercooler system.
It is a testament to the Aventador’s sound design and construction that allows this seamless transition to a mega-horsepower supercar. In keeping with the over-the-top nature of this car, the entire monocoque is of carbon-fiber construction, making for an extremely rigid yet light platform. The 6.5L Lamborghini V-12 engine was new for model-year 2012, and it was first used on the Aventador. In standard tune it produces 690 HP, leaving a large reserve for additional power modification. The car is equipped with a single-clutch 7-speed semi-automatic transmission that can effectuate gear shifts in 50 milliseconds.
The all-wheel-drive system is electronically controlled and provides optimum and variable torque split front to rear, as well as traction control. Its slippery shape and aerodynamic appendages enabled “Sport Auto” magazine to reach a top speed of 230 MPH. This Aventador is presented in the factory special-order color of Grigio Telesto with a contrasting black leather interior. The wheels are specially built HRE units finished in gloss black, and the stock wheels are also included with the car. This Aventador LP700-4 recently received a comprehensive service and sports a mere 6,000 miles on the odometer.
