According to the Jaguar Heritage Trust, this XK120 Open Two Seater (Roadster), chassis 672051, was dispatched on April 30, 1952, built with left-hand drive for the U.S. market and distributed by Max Hoffman. The car is the recipient of a total frame-off, concours-level restoration finished in 2000, and has been carefully stored in a climate controlled facility and sparingly driven, with the 1,344 miles registered on the odometer indicating the distance traveled since completion.
It is finished in sporting Bright Red with Biscuit-hued Connolly leather upholstery, matching leather-bound tan Wilton wool carpets, tan hood and side curtains and, per factory records, the car retains its numbers-matching 3.4L DOHC inline-6 cylinder engine. This XK120 has been in the collection of the same Seattle, Washington, owner since 2000. The car was invited to the 2008 Kirkland Concours d’Elegence, where it was displayed and judged in the special featured class, “Lipstick Red Convertibles.” It can be seen in its full glory pictured next to a 300SL Roadster in Sports Car Market Magazine’s coverage of the event in the January 2009 issue.
Included with the car is a copy of the magazine in addition to the Jaguar Heritage Trust certificate, this car’s XK Registry data, owner documentation, owner’s manual, an original sales brochure, the complete factory tool roll, the jack and spare, the factory aerodynamic rear wheel arch spats, and a photo album, which notably includes additional photos of the car at the Kirkland Concours as well as the display card from the show.
