DUE TO CIRCUMSTANCES BEYOND OUR CONTROL, THIS LOT HAS BEEN WITHDRAWN FROM THE AUCTION. The first XJ was launched in 1968 and the designation has been used for successive Jaguar flagship models ever since. The original model was the last Jaguar saloon to have had the input of Sir William Lyons, the company's founder. With the introduction of the X308 generation in 1997 came a switch from the 'XJ6' nomenclature to 'XJ8', reflecting the fact that the X308 cars were powered by a new V8 engine. In 2007 the X308 was facelifted and internal designation changed to X358 with a revised front grille, deleted mid-door trim and slightly redesigned front fenders and vehicle electronics systems were updated.
This stunning late Petrol 3.0 litre X358 facelift XJ is presented in Anthracite with a metallic fleck with contrasting beige leather trim and 20" BBS alloy wheels, one of the very last XJ's produced before being replaced by the X351. Fabulously specified with electric seats, heated and cooled to the front, steering column adjust with memory, Jaguar logo embossed head rests, cruise and speed limit control, front and rear parking sensors, touch screen UK specification satellite navigation, auto lights and wipers, Xenon headlamps, six-CD changer and factory fitted remote alarm immobiliser. Our vendor declared at the time of inspection that everything works.
This example was imported from Japan in 2023 and registered early this year, it has undergone a £2,500 preparation which includes a workshop inspection and a service, for which an invoice can be found in the file. A full UK specification car with MPH speedometer this really is a top to bottom ready for next owner car with UK V5 and handbook coupled to two keys.
We are informed insurance as is per any UK supplied Jaguar with no loadings, the car is ULEZ compliant and has an MoT test certificate until January 2025. With Jaguars adaptive suspension and fabulous luxury specification the facelifted X358 with an all aluminium unibody chassis and bodywork is a firm favourite of ours, in this colour you could be a dignitary, politician or bank robber but look equally as cool stepping out of a car that has more presence than its German counterparts.
