From July 1981, the Jaguar XJ-S was reintroduced as the XJ-S HE, benefiting from the new high efficiency V12 with Michael May’s 'Fire Ball' combustion chamber and exterior and interior updates including Starfish alloys and burled elm trim. Powered by the 5.3-litre V12, producing 295bhp in European specification and coupled to an automatic transmission. Finished in Regency Red Mica, believed to be original paint, complemented by a tan interior with original carpets and showing very little wear. Retains its factory-correct Starfish alloy wheels, with original trim features such as chrome bumper inserts and body-coloured boot trim.
Just 25,266 miles covered from new with only two owners, the current since 2015, and kept in dry storage for a number of years. Offered as an excellent project with minimal ownership, low mileage and a very original specification, ready to be enjoyed once recommissioned.
