In 1991 AM General made the inspired decision to offer this remarkable vehicle for public sale. Apart from additional creature comforts, the civilian Hummer is virtually indistinguishable from its military counterpart. The Hummer's astonishing off-road capability is enough to make owners of lesser 4WDs green with envy: 22" (56cm) vertical rock ledges, 60-degree upward gradients, 30" (76cm) of water, 3' (91cm) snowdrifts and 40-degree side slopes all being taken effortlessly in its giant stride. It is also capable of towing a load weighing in excess of 7,500lbs (3,400kg).
The power unit is a 6.5-liter V8 turbo diesel producing 205bhp at 3,400rpm and delivering a mighty 440lb/ft of torque at just 1,800 revs. The Torque Trac 4 (TT4) transmission system incorporates a four-speed automatic gearbox, Zexel Torsen III torque biasing differential and reduction-geared hubs. This powertrain is mounted in a steel box-section chassis featuring all-independent suspension, power-assisted steering and power-assisted ABS-equipped disc brakes all round, while the coachwork is manufactured from aircraft-grade aluminum alloy.
THE CAR OFFERED
The Hummer H1 quickly shot to fame as a popular conveyance for celebrities from across the entertainment spectrum. Originally popularized by Arnold Schwarzenegger, who began playing the mean streets of Beverly Hills in one in the very early 1990s, the big, bruising machines soon found their way into the garages of famous authors like Tom Clancy and athletes like Karl Malone and Dennis Rodman.
Hummers also found their way into music videos, particular of the rap variety, with everyone from Biggie Smalls to Missy Elliot including them. Beyond the videos though, they were used as transportation and yet another way to project the artist's success and style. And in the mid-1990s, there were few bigger names in hip hop than Tupac Shakur.

, his blend of raw social commentary and street-savvy charm earned him widespread fame. Platinum albums like

(1996) cemented his status as a top hip-hop voice. Tragically, at age 25, he was shot in a drive by in Las Vegas on September 7 and died six days later, leaving behind an enduring legacy.
With his meteoric rise, Tupac acquired some fun toys – including this 1996 Hummer H1 Four-Door Hard Top Pickup dubbed 'Eliminator'. Acquired on August 16, 1996 – some three weeks before his passing, Tupac made swift work in tailoring his Hummer to suit him. Modified in period, additions to the stock machine include a full light kit with 38 inch Dick Cepek off-road lights abetted by a 360 degree spotlight, front end grill and hood guard, diamond plate bumpers containing a 12,000lb winch, external PA system with sirens, and a decked out interior in full beige leather with burl walnut trim and, of course, a heavily upgraded Clarion stereo system.
Photos of Tupac in the Hummer document his ownership for the several weeks he was alive after buying the car. Following Tupac's death, the Hummer was listed in the estate filing for Tupac, who had died without a will. At the time of his death, fewer than 5,000 miles were on the odometer. Stored for the next seven years, the Hummer was a raffle prize in the 2003 BET organized "Picture Me Rollin'" sweepstakes, at the time having only 5,460 miles. In 2007, the Hummer returned to the hip hop scene when it was acquired by Havenotz Entertainment owners Yaasmyn Fula (mother of fellow Outlawz rapper Yaki 'Prince' Kadafi – who lost his life a few months after Tupac) and Sardar 'Candyman 187' Khan.
Retained by the pair for three years, it was frequently spotted cruising the streets of LA late at night after recording work at the studio was completed. The current owner acquired the truck in 2010.
Included with the car are copies of documentation including the aforementioned estate documents, a copy of the California Affidavit For Transfer Without Probate from the estate of Tupac Shakur to his mother Afeni Shakur on August 14, 1999, DMV Registration Information in the name of Yaasmyn Fula and Sardar Khan, pictures of Tupac in the Hummer, as well as various accompanying ephemera.
